There are some changes to how you contact the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Operations Teams within Essex County Council.

What’s changing?

• From 11 December 2024, there will be a new phone number to contact the quadrant SEND Operations teams.
• The new phone number to use is 0345 603 7638.
• Contact Essex will be supporting with all incoming calls. (Contact Essex are Essex County Council's central contact centre.) 

What you need to do:

• From 11 December, call 0345 603 7638 if you wish to contact the SEND Operations teams. This is one number for all areas of Essex.
• If you call the old numbers, they’ll be redirected to the new one for a while to make sure no calls are missed.
• From 11 January 2025, you’ll need to use the new number. If you call the old numbers, there will be a message reminding you of the new number to call.

Why the change?

• This will free up the SEND Teams to focus on other important work while still making sure you can reach them when you need to.
• There are no plans to change any caseworkers as part of this work. It just means there is a different way to contact them by telephone.
