Non-accidental injuries are injuries that are suspected or proven to have been inflicted upon an infant or child by someone else, or in the care of someone else.
It can be difficult to spot non-accidental injuries. In some cases, signs can be missed because they are complex, and it is unclear what has happened.
Target audience: The Non-accidental Injury E-learning package is free to access for anyone working or volunteering with children, young people or their families in Essex, Southend and Thurrock.
Course aim: To raise awareness about non-accidental injuries and the importance of taking immediate action. To improve confidence when dealing with a non-accidental injury, understanding the importance of having those difficult conversations and asking lots of questions. Knowing what to do when the physical injury and the explanation given do not seem plausible or if we have a feeling that something isn't right.
