Any organisation providing childcare or activities for children and young people needs effective safeguarding policies and procedures, as well as confident staff and volunteers.
NSPCC Learning has published a blog post looking at the provision of safe wraparound care for primary-school aged children.
The blog explores the safeguarding responsibilities of wraparound care providers across the UK who provide regular childcare before and after school. It also discusses schools’ safeguarding responsibilities in England when wraparound care is not directly managed by the school.
There is further information about safeguarding in sport and extra-curricular activities on the ESCB website.
