Recognising Professionals as Victims of Domestic Abuse

Last updated by Stephanie Rosser on Tuesday, February 25, 2025

One in five adults experience domestic abuse, it’s important to recognise anyone can be a victim of domestic abuse. Professionals, including people who are working in domestic abuse (DA), are part of that statistic and face unique challenges if they become victims.

Employers have a duty of care to support employees experiencing DA. Both abusers and victims can be part of our communities and workplaces, therefore it's important to respond to both.

SETDAB have developed a good practice guide with their partners. Learn more on how to support professionals experiencing domestic abuse, the unique barriers they face in accessing support, together with some real-life case studies which help to bring these issues to life. You can download the full guide here.
