Essex Council for Voluntary Youth Services (ECVYS) youth map

Last updated by Stephanie Rosser on Thursday, February 27, 2025

The Essex Council for Voluntary Youth Services (ECVYS) youth map has been viewed 9,800 times since it launched in June.

It is a direct response to young people, parents and professionals saying that they don’t know what is available for young people in Essex, Southend and Thurrock. The map aims to make it easy for people to find activities and safe spaces that interest them.

The map has markers for all the different youth opportunities that ECVYS know about to date in Essex (and we are adding more all the time).

The map has been updated recently to show four different ‘layers’ of opportunities.

1.) Uniformed organisations

2.) Physical activity groups

3.) Open access/ Support/ Special interest groups

4.) Vacancies

There is also a link to ‘Frontline’ who map the more intensive support.

The default view on the youth map shows every group, but you can choose to select a certain ‘layer’ on the menu bar to the top left of the map, so that you only see opportunities that you are interested in. Or you can just zoom in on your chosen area on the default view to see everything available.
