Researchers at Essex County Council (Research & Citizen Insight team) are currently doing a piece of research called ‘Childhood in Essex’, which aims to bring to life everyday realities of children and young people living in Essex today, and to examine how childhood and adolescence has changed compared to their parents. This will aid system partners to understand the opportunities available and challenges faced by children and young people living in Essex today. This will be explored with children and young people aged nine years and above, parents/carers, and professionals.
The researchers are looking to interview around 10 professionals, who have worked with children and young people for 15 years or longer, to learn more about professionals’ observations of the changes in childhood and adolescence over recent times. These can be educators, wraparound care providers, youth workers - as long as they work with children directly.

Interviews will take place throughout June and July.
