Course description:
The course looks at the Child Safeguarding Practice Review - Forced Marriage - co-authored by Bal Kaur Howard and includes case studies and lived experience.
Practitioners will gain an understanding of the difference between arranged and forced marriage. They will learn about the risk indicators, safety planning and relevant legislation.
The second part of the course will be delivered by Jordan Alexander the chair for the National Working Group for Spiritual and Ritual Abuse.
This will include Cultural awareness of beliefs, superstitions and spirituality and how to effectively manage a report or disclosure of this abuse, how to challenge beliefs where they are harmful to others and has unique developed techniques to help those who have been abused and safeguard them from further abuse.
The course brings greater awareness and understanding to abuse that takes place here in the UK, affecting thousands of people every year, delivered by leading experts in the area.
