Learning Outcomes: This session will cover the following key points about AI companions (chatbots)
- AI companions are designed for use by adults not young people, Nomi, Replika and Character state their usage guidelines are 18+ (hence why they often have sexual content / material)
- A risk assessment of popular AI companion platforms, including Character.AI, Nomi, and Replika, found that these systems pose "unacceptable risks" for users under 18, easily producing responses ranging from sexual material and offensive stereotypes to dangerous "advice" that, if followed, could have ...
- AI companions reflect the user back on themselves, so if the user feels depressed, anxious, suicidal then the AI will reflect this and escalate / magnify the feeling.
This session will also include a Q&A at the end
Cancellation
If a delegate fails to attend a course that they have booked, or cancel with less than five working days’ notice, their organisation will be charged - £10. A delegate will be deemed a non-attendee if they arrive 15 minutes after the course commences either online or at a venue.
