Child Sexual Abuse - Overcoming the challenges in practice

This is a FREE webinar for anyone working with children and families in Essex.

Anna Glinski- Deputy Director, Knowledge and Practice Development, Centre of Expertise on child sexual abuse

In addition to this you will be provided with an overview and the learning from Multi Agency Case Audits (MACAs) about Child Sexual Abuse held in Essex in 2025

Learning outcomes:
- Understand the national and local data relating to child sexual abuse
- Recognise the challenges in practice on child sexual abuse, and what we can do to overcome them
- Understand the barriers facing children (and professionals) in communicating about sexual abuse
- Gain knowledge on resources to support practice including: identifying the signs and indicators of sexual abuse; communicating with children; supporting parents and carers; and safety planning in education settings.

This session will explore the findings of this report and the broader challenges which we know exist in practice for safeguarding professionals, before going on to think about what we can all do in our roles to improve the identification and response to concerns of child sexual abuse.
