LGBT+ History Month

LGBT+ History Month takes place in February each year, and celebrates the history, lives, and experiences of LGBTQ+ people. It aims to raise awareness of the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community and help enable everyone to reach their full potential. This includes increasing the visibility of LGBTQ+ people in educational and cultural settings, and to make these a safe space.

 

The theme this year is ‘Body, Mind, Spirit’ and free resources are available on the LGBT+ History Month website.

 

Essex Libraries have also produced some fantastic book lists in celebration of LGBT History Month. Their recommended reads include a mix of books, ebooks and eaudio books:
