Leaving children alone over the holidays

The NSPCC see an increase in calls to the helpline during July and August about children being left home alone.

 

Parents are urged to think carefully about whether their child is ready to be left home alone over the summer holidays. While there isn’t a legal age limit for leaving children alone, parents should use their judgement before leaving any child home alone – especially those under 12 years old.
