ESCB - Safety around the home

26 October 2026

Creating a safe home environment is an important part of keeping children protected from everyday hazards. Parents and carers are encouraged to be aware of risks such as choking, falls, poisoning, burns and scalds, drowning, fire, and injuries caused by climbing or unsecured furniture. Simple measures, including keeping dangerous items out of reach, securing blind cords and heavy furniture, fitting and testing smoke alarms, and closely supervising young children, can significantly reduce the risk of serious accidents and help keep children safe at home.
