The Lucy Faithful Foundation has published a report sharing insights from an analysis of conversations between young people and Shore advisors between July 2023 and January 2024.

Shore is a confidential online space for young people worried about their sexual behaviour. 

Findings include: 75% of young people contacting Shore chat had not told any other professional about their concerns or behaviour; feelings of shame, anxiety and hopelessness were common; and mental health, coping strategies, future goals and perceived barriers all shape young people's ability to move forward. 

The importance of anonymity was also highlighted with young people reporting that confidential support allowed them to ask difficult questions, reflect honestly, and begin considering change.
