The Domestic Abuse Commissioner, Dame Nicole Jacobs, has published a ground-breaking report: 'Victims in their own right? Babies, children and young people’s experiences of domestic abuse'.
The Government will now need to respond to the recommendations made in the report. The 66 recommendations in the report are grouped into seven key themes:
1. Centring children’s voices
2. Stronger cross-departmental working and strategic leadership
3. Holistic funding
4. Data and evidence
5. Specialist training for every frontline professional who may work with babies, children and young people
6. Safeguarding
7. Ensuring practice is informed by specialists
