Clear the Air about Vaping
Essex County Council has launched a campaign to help parents and carers talk to young children about vaping.
Clear the Air is designed to help organisations across Essex support parents of 10 to 12-year-olds to feel ready and confident to have that first chat.
Children are exposed to vaping more often than many adults realise through social media, friends and everyday environments. This can make vaping seem normal at an early age.
When parents feel informed and confident to talk, children are better prepared to respond to situations involving vaping.
This campaign provides clear and accessible information for you to share with families.
It will help parents to understand:
• What vapes are and what is in them
• The risks for young people
• What to say if your child is offered a vape
Parents do not need to be experts. With the right support and clear facts, a simple conversation can make a difference.
