A Child Safeguarding Practice Review (CSPR) is a review about learning and NOT about fault or blame.
There is a multi-agency review team and a Lead Reviewer who writes the report.
Learning points and good practice are shared with agencies, through author briefings, discussions and stay safe groups.
Agencies are responsible for implementing changes in order to improve practice in their organisations.
Making a referral for a CSPR
If you become aware of a case which you believe fits the criteria for a Child Safeguarding Practice Review you should discuss this with your manager or senior officer and ESCB agency representative. If following this discussion, it is agreed to make a referral, email ESCB (escb@essex.gov.uk) who will provide a referral form and explain the next steps.
Please refer to the documents below for the next steps of the review process.
