Safer Places Free Webinar Series: Coercive Control Through Children’s Eyes

Last updated by Stephanie Rosser on Thursday, January 9, 2025

Safer Places are excited to announce a special lunch and learn spotlight on children as victims of domestic abuse in their own right.

The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 recognises, for the first time, that a child who witnesses, hears, or experiences the effects of domestic abuse—and is connected to either the victim or the perpetrator—should be regarded as a victim themselves. But what does this really mean?

To explore this crucial topic, Safer Place are hosting free webinars in the coming months to delve into how children experience and are impacted by domestic abuse.

You will learn how children may view behaviours designed to isolate, intimidate, and exert control over a parent, usually one they depend on and trust. This journey of understanding will not only ask you to view abuse from children's perspective but to see its ripple effects on children’s minds, emotions, and growth.

Tuesday 14 January 2025, 13:00 – 14:00, Online.
