Today sees the launch of the next round of updates to the SET Child Protection Procedures.
Primarily the key changes made to the procedures are to reflect the new multi-agency safeguarding arrangements that came into force nationally from 29 September 2019 and replace Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs).
Across Southend, Essex and Thurrock the ‘Local Multi-Agency Safeguarding Partnerships/Boards’ will co-ordinate these new arrangements on behalf of their named Statutory Partners and will be referred to throughout the SET Child Protection and Safeguarding Procedures.
The new multi-agency safeguarding arrangements in Essex will continue to sit under the Essex Safeguarding Children Board.
