National Safeguarding Adults Week (1)

Last updated by on Thursday, November 11, 2021

During this year’s National Safeguarding Adults Week (Monday 15th November to Sunday 21st November), Southend, Essex and Thurrock (SET) Safeguarding Adults Boards are urging residents to find out about the local support available to adults who are victims of abuse.

Abuse amongst adults can take many forms, including modern slavery, cuckooing, hate crime, radicalisation and extremism and domestic abuse. However, there is help available from organisations such as Essex County Council’s Adult Social Care service, Essex Police, and COMPASS for anyone who may need somewhere to turn to for help locally.

Throughout the week, the subject of safeguarding adults will be explored on the Essex Safeguarding Adults Board social media channels, with a focus on the particular issues seen within Southend, Essex and Thurrock communities each day.
