This week, the Essex Safeguarding Children Board (ESCB) alongside Essex County Council (ECC) is supporting ‘Children’s Mental Health Week’, a campaign launched by Place2Be to raise awareness and explore how young people can further improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
The focus on healthy living tends to be around physical wellbeing, be that getting the right level of exercise or eating the right food, however the campaign sets out to illustrate how maintaining a healthy body also helps to maintain a healthy mind. Free resources giving advice and guidance are available for parents and carers, with the theme this year being Healthy: Inside and Out.
Children and young people living in Essex who feel they are struggling with their emotional health and wellbeing and need to talk to someone, can also seek help through Kooth, a free online counselling service.
The ESCB has a dedicated page regarding Emotional Wellbeing & Mental Health which can be accessed here.
