Child Sexual Exploitation Champions - new and existing

 

Southend, Essex and Thurrock (SET) have agreed a common approach to the role of the CSE Champion.

There will no longer be specific CSE Champions Training. In order to qualify for a CSE Champion role within Southend, Essex and Thurrock, the following standards must be achieved. 

 

  1. Have a good working knowledge of safeguarding children and have completed safeguarding children level 2 course, or equivalent as a minimum
  2. Completed a minimum of a basic awareness CSE course (online or face to face)
  3. Completed the SET CSE Toolbox On Line Training Module
  4. Have support from line manager to be the CSE Champion in their team/organisation
  5. (SOUTHEND / ESSEX ONLY) Be a National Working Group (NWG) member

 

You must also complete a CSE Champions Request Form and email it to: escb.training@essex.gov.uk 

 

These standards ensure that all CSE Champions across SET have achieved a specific level of training / development and knowledge to ensure they are able to fulfil the role expectations.

CSE Champions Forum

 

Cost to participants: Free (please note the cancellation policy)

 

To maintain your CSE Champion role each year, you will be expected to attend one CSE Champions Forum.

These provide a chance to meet and network with other CSE Champions, as well as local and national updates in relation to CSE.

You must be a CSE Champion to attend a CSE Champions Forum.

 

The first part of the forums will cover the following areas:

  • National Referral Mechanism (NRM) & Trafficking
  • CSE and children with disability and special needs

 

In response to feedback from CSE Champions at previous forums, the second part of the forum will cover a different specialist topic. Please book your place using the links to the right. Further forums will be arranged in Spring 2019.

Please note that late notice cancellations and non-attendance at courses will incur a charge, you will need to complete payment information upon booking the course, this information will only be used if you cancel your place with less than 15 working days’ notice or do not attend on the day.
