Staying Safe Online
It is difficult to supervise your child every time they go online but there are things you can do to help keep them safe. The Essex Safeguarding Children Board is supporting the NSPCC Share Aware campaign which aims to encourage open and honest conversations between parents and children.

Share Aware

A great new tool called Net Aware, which has launched as part of the campaign is called Net Aware is available for parents and gives them all the need to know information about the most popular networks, sites and apps that children and young people are currently using. There are some great talking tips to encourage open conversations and a couple of promotional videos showing the dangers of sharing too much online.

Cyberbullying is when a person or a group of people uses the internet, mobile phones, online games or any other kind of digital technology to threaten, tease, upset or humiliate someone else. You can report any online abuse through the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) website. Staying involved in your child's cyber world, can help  protect from its dangers. The Kids Health website has a lot of useful information for parents.
