Children and Families Hub

From 16 April 2018 a new website, Essex Effective Support will provide access to an online Request for Support portal. The website will also bring together in one place the Essex Directory of Services, guidance and tools to support practitioners in their work with children and families across Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Windscreen of Need.

The online Request for Support portal will replace the current Children and Families Hub email route for submitting all non-urgent Requests for Support. The email route will close at 5pm on Friday 13 April 2018.

How to report a concern about a child

If you are concerned that a child or young person is being harmed or neglected or is at risk of this you should go to the Essex Effective Support website. There is guidance on printing the Request for Support Form here.

If the child is at immediate risk of significant harm, then call the Children and Families Hub on 0345 603 7627 and ask for the 'Priority Line'.

If there is an immediate risk of harm to a child then contact the Police.

The Children and Families Hub continue to offer a consultation line for professionals providing advice and guidance. This can be accessed by calling 0345 603 7627 and asking for the 'Consultation Line'.
