The Essex Safeguarding Children Board Section 11 Safeguarding Children Audit now takes place once every two years, and the new audit cycle has arrived.
The statutory guidance ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’ 2015 states that Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs) have a statutory duty to assess how well, and to what level, its partners are fulfilling their obligations to safeguard and promote the welfare of children under Section 11 of the Children Act 2004
The audit will commence on Monday 30th October 2017. Agencies will then have up to 31st May 2018 to complete it.
Following feedback from partner agencies, there is no longer an online audit tool. Instead, the audit will be sent via email in the form of an easy-to-use Excel spreadsheet template along with helpful guidance on how to complete it.
Further information will be sent to those agencies that are expected to complete the audit. This will also be made available on our dedicated webpage.
